...DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS ARE EXPECTED STARTING LATE THIS
EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

.A POWERFUL ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL DELIVER A FRIGID AIR MASS TO REGION THIS EVENING. BITTERLY COLD AIR TEMPERATURES COMBINED WITH STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL PRODUCE DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS.
WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE MOUNTAINS COULD APPROACH MINUS
40 DEGREES...WITH VALUES BETWEEN 20 AND 30 BELOW OUTSIDE THE MOUNTAINS.



...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EST FRIDAY...

* HAZARD TYPES...DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS.

* WIND CHILL...AS LOW AS 26 BELOW DUE TO TEMPERATURES 5 BELOW TO 9 ABOVE ZERO...AND WINDS NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

* TIMING...LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...5 BELOW TO 9 ABOVE ZERO.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
